Information Notice Regarding Personal Data Protection

Project Title: "Study of gamification preferences according to user profiles based on scenarios"

Data contoller for this sutdy: LAMIH UMR CNRS 8201, Université Polytechnique Hauts-de-France, Campus du Mont Houy, 59313 Valenciennes Cedex 9.

Scientific Researchers in charge of the project:
Dr. Eugénie AVRIL (Associate Professor / Maître de Conférences (MCF), LAMIH UMR CNRS 8201) – eugenie.avril@uphf.fr
Pr. Christophe KOLSKI (Professor, LAMIH UMR CNRS 8201) – christophe.kolski@uphf.fr
Dr. Sophie LEPREUX (Associate Professor / MCF, LAMIH UMR CNRS 8201) – sophie.lepreux@uphf.fr
Dr. Laura WALLARD (Associate Professor / MCF - HDR, LAMIH UMR CNRS 8201) – laura.wallard@uphf.fr

1. Purpose and procedure

  • Objective: To analyze potential correlations between user profiles and gamification preferences.
  • Purpose: Creation of the participant repository, sending invitations, correspondence related to the study, administration of questionnaires, analysis of results, PhD thesis writing, and publication of results.
  • Criteria: Must be of legal age (18+) and have internet access to complete this questionnaire.
  • Procedure: You will complete this online questionnaire, which includes questions to define your profile. Scenarios will then be presented to you, which you will need to evaluate based on the level of motivation they would provide you to walk regularly. Finally, you will be asked to rank these scenarios in order of preference.

2. Your data and confidentiality (GDPR)

  • Collected data: Potentially your contact data to send you the questionnaire (last name, first name, institutional email), your identification data (random number, gender, age), and your questionnaire responses (IT and physical activity habits, opinions on the proposed gamification scenarios).
  • Source of data: Contact data is sourced from internal UPHF tools; other data comes from your responses to the questionnaire.
  • Retention period: Your data will be deleted 2 years after the latest event between the PhD thesis defense and the last scientific publication. They will then be processed in accordance with public archive regulations. Contact data will be deleted after the campaign.
  • Dissemination: Global results will be published anonymously (conferences, articles, thesis). You may request a copy of these from the researchers.

3. What are your rights?

The legal basis for this study is your consent. This consent is entirely free and voluntary. You may refuse to participate or withdraw your consent at any time without justification or consequences. If you withdraw your consent, your data will no longer be used for the study. If the withdrawal occurs after data pseudonymization without a correspondence key, it will not be possible to act upon it, as identifying you will be impossible.

You have the following rights regarding your data: access, rectification, erasure, and restriction of processing. You can also exercise your right to data portability, as well as, where applicable, your right to object and the withdrawal of your consent at any time.

Your rights may be limited: if exercised after data pseudonymization without a correspondence key, they cannot be fulfilled because identifying you will be impossible.

To exercise your rights: Contact the research team or the Data Protection Officer by email at dpo@uphf.fr.

In the event of a complaint: You may contact the CNIL: 3 Place de Fontenoy, TSA 80715 – 75334 Paris Cedex 07 (https://www.cnil.fr/).
